State and County Fairs

Mona Hermans:  Oregon Fairs Representative

Peggy Bodle:  Washington Fairs Representative

See RIBBON WINNERS BELOW!!!

Fairs are of great interest and importance to MEOW members. Both State and County Fairs are places for members to display their work, demonstrate their skills, recruit new members, and teach the general public about machine needle arts.

MEOW Representatives have worked closely with Fair Officials to update the Fair's premium books with categories tailored for the types of free motion machine needlework that members do.  MEOW Representatives also work with Fair Officials to obtain judges who are qualified to judge free motion work.

Many of our Fairs offer a MEOW Award to the Judge's choice of entries in the free motion categories. This award is a special ribbon rosette and a certificate from MEOW.  Winners of this award do not have to be MEOW members.

Enter Your Items in the Fair!

Submit your garments, home decorations, quilts, needlework, spinning, weaving, machine embroidery; also cooking, canning, bead work, and many more items for display in your local fair.

Your entry is a way to support your county fair as well as your group or guild: ASG, CTA, MEOW, Quilt, Spinning, Weavers, Tatting, Knitting, Crocheting, Lace, etc.  Your entries in the fair are seen by many fair goers, they provide a platform to display what we do as a group.  Your entry also encourages other people to join the various groups, or inspires someone to pursue a project seen at the county fair.

Those of you who wish to earn community service hours for your group are invited to volunteer for entries, setup, or demonstrating your craft at the county fair.  Contact the Superintendent of the area you are interested in.

These fairs indicate they will present in the MEOW award.

Congratulations to the 2007 Winners
