Machine Embroiderers of Oregon and Washington (MEOW)
Carol Cornford Scholarship Guidelines.
Revised 2006

MEOW has established a scholarship fund to honor a member, Carol Cornford, in recognition of her vision and determination in establishing the concept of MEOW, and her efforts in the best interest of the organization.

One of the purposes of the Carol Cornford Scholarship Fund is to provide some financial assistance for members to attend our annual seminar.

All MEOW members* in good standing are eligible to submit their name for a blind drawing to be held at the January board meeting.  Scholarships are funded by a raffle held at MEOW’s previous seminar.

*A member will not be eligible if they have previously used scholarship funds within the past three seminars.

*A member's name may be submitted only once.

The application form will be printed in the October Newsletter.

If your name is drawn for a scholarship, a notification will be sent via e-mail or letter.

Notify the scholarship chairman via e-mail or letter by January 15 to be included in the blind drawing.  An e-mail submission will receive an acknowledgment of e-mail received.  NO submissions will be accepted after January 15.

Please include in your e-mail or letter:

v     Name

v     E-mail address or home address

v     Area Group

v     Phone Number

STIPULATIONS:
1. Seminar scholarship recipients are required to present a program demonstrating a technique or project that is learned at seminar to at least one area group other than their own primary/home group prior to the next seminar.  Stray Cats may fulfill this obligation by demonstrating at Fairs, Trade shows, or Youth Educational programs.
2. Accomplishment of this requirement is to be verified in writing by filling out the required information on the Conformation Form Letter and then sent by the recipient to the Scholarship Chairman.
3. To be eligible for future scholarships, the recipient must comply with this requirement.   Failure to do so will result in the recipient being billed for the cost of the scholarship.
4. The scholarship is not transferable.
5. Alternates will be drawn in the event the recipient is unable to attend.
