Gift Exchange

Postcards

Sali Lusk, from Cyber Cats, is welcoming us to participate in the 2007 Gift Exchange that has become a popular event at every Seminar. These fun little projects are addictive and a great way to try out a new technique. You may submit from 1 up to a maximum of 6 - 5X7 postcards (one size only!) and go home with the same amount you made. Complete instructions are available on the MEOW website at www.Sewmeow.org; in the Oct 2006 newsletter or by contacting Sali Lusk at jsmudpie@earthlink.net, or call (425) 255-0279. The postcards will be on display in the Shoreline Room.

Retail Market

Retail Market will be held in the Highlander room. A shopping area with tables will be available for those wishing to sell their wares. Shoppers will find a wide variety of goods. Susan Bridwell, Pat’s sister, and LaVerne Mazzuca will mind the store. Set up time for vendors will be during registration. Shopping will be available every day. Table space is $10 for the first table for MEOW members. Additional tables and non-members will be charged $25 per table. To reserve table space contact LaVerne at clm333@verizon.net.

Raffle

The Juanita Gatos will be handling the raffle. Diane Baker is our Carol Cornford Raffle chairperson assisted by Arlene Harrison, Arlette Wentz and Marsha Kurle.. Each year, we raffle many lovely gifts donated by members, commercial friends of MEOW and teachers to replenish this fund. You may purchase tickets even if you do not attend seminar. Tickets will be available at Seminar or if not attending, ask a friend to buy tickets for you (6 for $5). Each group or member is encouraged to contribute new or like-new items, especially of a sewing or textile nature. Let’s keep these items nice, a true "gift" from Seminar. Bring your items to Seminar clearly labeled with the donors name and/or group name. Contact Diane, dbaker179@comcast.net, with an e-mail report of what you are contributing before Seminar. Bring your raffle items to the Spartan room for display and organizing.

Style Show / Fashion Show

Kitty Young will be moderating our style show this year. She invites you to model anything you have made, embellished, or decorated. Model as many garments as you like. Please write legibly on a 3X5 card (1 card for each garment) the following: name, address, phone number and/or e-mail address, description of the item (types of materials, techniques used, inspiration, why you made it, where you have worn it, etc.). Also please include the model’s name and give appropriate credit where it is due (pattern used, design inspiration etc.). This can be written in either paragraph form or in out-line form – your preference. The Style Show will be held Friday after the General Meeting in the Shoreline (dining) room. Kitty will meet with you briefly on Thursday at the close of Welcome Night. We look forward to your participation and inspiring creations.
