Embellishments-Two Decades and Beyond

Machine Embroiderers of Oregon and Washington (MEOW) is a nonprofit organization comprised of individuals interested in the field of sewing machine art. Started in 1988 by 55 charter members, today MEOW is over 225 strong.

MEOW operates on a non-profit basis for educational and benevolent purposes. There are currently 30 area groups in Oregon and Washington. Each group holds meetings where techniques, projects and community service projects are the order of business.

MEOW encourages and promotes interest and knowledge in the field of sewing machine art. These art forms include thread painting, battenburg, cutwork, lace, charted needles and much more. Many examples of these techniques will be included in the display.
