MEOW Information

What is MEOW?

Machine Embroiderers of Oregon and Washington

M.E.O.W. is a nonprofit, educational group comprised of persons interested in the field of free form machine embroidery and machine artistry, which includes almost anything except garment construction.

The objectives are:
    *  To encourage, promote interest and knowledge in

creative sewing machine embroidery as an art form,

such as  appliqué,  cutwork,  battenburg  lace, thread

        painting and charted needles.

    *  To develop friendships as a means of sharing with one

another methods,  techniques and other ideas

         pertinent to machine artistry.

    *  To encourage high ethical standards among those

persons engaged in machine artistry as a hobby or a

        profession.

AREA GROUPS  meet on a regular basis. We have mini-classes, demonstrations and discuss new techniques, new materials, new supplies or sources and we spend time with others who also enjoy the art of machine stitching. These meetings are educational, enjoyable and planned to further our involvement in machine stitchery and/or fabric embellishment.

THE M.E.O.W. NEWSLETTER is published and mailed to the membership quarterly. The newsletter contains pertinent informative articles and information about the area groups, with meeting schedules and reports on board activities as well as patterns, instructions and tips from members.
