·Seminar 2004 Bulletin Board·

Having just concluded a great seminar it is time to focus on plans and ideas for seminar 2004.  Please note this bulletin board in the Newsletters for items of interest the rest of the year regarding details of the plans from the chairs and committees.

SEMINAR 2004 AT WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY, SALEM, OREGON DATES ARE JUNE 2-6. TIME TO START SAVING UP YOUR $$$$’S.

·AREA REPS NOTICE:·

·         Start making plans for your group to contribute one or more smaller baskets, nice single items or grouping of gifts for the Carol Cornford Scholarship raffle. Also start reviewing your membership for a possible candidate for the scholarship drawing. Remember each group can send in one entry and that person is not eligible if she received a scholarship the past three years.  Wilma Simpson is Scholarship and Raffle Chair and will be giving updates in this space so watch for them here.

· SHARING ROOM DISPLAY ·

·         It is time to start planning to bring finished items to display in the sharing room. It has been noticed that many groups do not participate and we know many of you have lovely things to share with the whole attendance.  Sally Dunkin from the Polkadot Kitties will be chairing this committee and sharing with us in this spot from time to time so look for her comments.

· MESSAGE FOR MEMBERS ·

Many of you are submitting classes for this seminar and we are so appreciative of your doing this to help us have a good class selection process. You are invited to attend the October board meeting when we will be voting on these selections. Your input will be very valuable so carpool and join us.  Arlene Harrison of Juanito Gatos is chairing this committee and is anxious to receive your submissions.

·  STYLE SHOW ·

You have all year to get a project ready to model at our annual Style Show. We will accept your garments right up to Style Show time, but don’t wait until the last minute to prepare for this wonderful event…..a highlight of each seminar.  Linda Merritt of Cherry City Cats will chair this event and will be using the 3 x 5 card system of entry so watch for details in the Seminar Brochure.

·  SEMINAR COSTS FOR 2004  ·

·         Watch for the notice of the costs of seminar to be announced in the August Newsletter.  Chairs, Lyda Banick and Corale Goesch are already in contact with the University and promise we will do all we can to keep the cost affordable again.

·         We are proposing a change in the Sunday Schedule which we think will  certainly make the final day of seminar less stressful and enjoyable. That information will be in the August newsletter. For non-members who would like to receive a newsletter for a small fee contact our membership chair, Dee Finney : [email protected]

·         Our theme for this year is “Sweet Sixteen” because we will be celebrating our 16th year of this organization.  We have some great ‘sweet’ things in our plans. Please plan to attend and help make this another GREAT seminar. You will be glad you did.

• SEMINAR CHALLENGE •

Apral Harrel is again offering you a challenge to make something with a lot of items she is making into a packet for a small mailing and handling charge and has a new ‘sweet’ idea for rewarding the winner.  Watch for that in the Seminar Brochure but e-mail or call her for your packet  now so you can get started with your idea and come up with a winner.  This is always fun to see so get in touch with  her at: Harrel, Apral  E-mail Address : [email protected]
